100 starting lines
THE CONCEPT
2022 was the 100th running of the Pikes Peak International Hillclimb and I was asked by Emotion Engineering owner and chief engineer, Joey Seely to design a livery for a one-off Porsche 911GT3R specifically built to race at Pikes. I wanted this livery to not just be a dynamic design, but I wanted the idea to be rooted in the history of the race. So I came up with a simple concept: 100 years of the race could also be thought of as 100 starting lines crossed. And the “100-lines” livery was born.
This time I took my initial sketches for the design into a 3-D environment to help realize this complex design. There are exactly 100 lines placed over the surface of the car in an asymetrical configuraition.
